Betty Avery is a Kitchener, Ontario based artist and graphic designer. She graduated in 2013 from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelors degree in Fine Art, specializing in studio. In 2017, she graduated from George Brown College's Graphic Design program, and specialized in advertising.
She works part-time as a graphic designer for Canadian Mennonite magazine. Where she is responsible for website management, layout design of the magazine, photo colour corrections and advertising design. In her spare time, she can be found working on her own art practice—experimenting and playing with paint.
Her art practice is fuelled by emotion and personal experience. She has struggled with her mental health for the entirety of her life, and thus her experiences with anxiety and depression have been a major influence on her paintings.
She is always looking for new projects and although she specializes in abstract painting, she will work hard to create whatever it is you are after. If you are interested in commissioning a piece, please contact Betty, using the contact form below or send her an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
